I’m a trail, ultra and road running athlete and UESCA-CERTIFIED running coach based in Canmore, Alberta. train with me – cOACH HALLERAN!

I ran my first half marathon almost 20 years ago when I was just 17 years old, and I’ve been passionate about the sport of running ever since. Through almost two decades of training and racing, I’ve worked my way towards multiple podium finishes and even a few wins in a variety of events, from road 10km’s to trail 100 milers. While I’m incredibly proud of my running achievements, I’ve learned from many failures, fitness plateaus and even DNF’s along the way; all valuable experiences which provide the insight needed to work with a wide range of athletes. Learn more below!
why work with me?
- I have experience coaching athletes with a broad spectrum of experience levels to prepare for a wide range of events. I have helped athletes realize their potential in the half marathon, marathon, ultra-marathons, multi-day stage races and beyond
- I, myself, have worked with four different coaches with four very different approaches, all of which were right for me at one point in time. I can relate to the athlete perspective and believe in applying the right training approach, to the right athlete, at the right time
- My training approach is designed to fit in with your life, to complement the activities you love to do in addition to running – all while taking your running to another level
- My experience as an athlete and my own progression as a runner is what inspired me to start coaching. I pride myself on my ability to cater my approach and training plans to the experience level of the athlete I’m working with so they can reach their ultimate potential. I have won several races, yet I have also finished near the back of the pack. I have run a sub 3-hour marathon but I have also run a 4:59 marathon. My training and relationship with running has evolved along the way and I’d love to help yours evolve too!
- I keep the roster of athletes I work with small so that I can remain engaged and tuned in to each and every athlete’s training. 2026 is starting off with a bang and my roster is full! I anticipate some availability opening up by April, and will keep this space updated. While I’m currently at capacity, if you think we’d be a great fit to work together, please reach out at elizabethhalleran@gmail.com to inquire and we’ll see what we can work out!
How do my coaching services work?
- My coaching services are $125 per month, inclusive of everything. All plans are on a month-to-month basis – no minimum commitment, no term – just flexibility so that we can make sure we’re the right fit to work together.
- My coaching services include:
- A training plan delivered through TrainingPeaks in one-month increments. In my experience, a month at a time allows me to sufficiently adapt your plan based on how the previous month went, while allowing you to plan a few weeks ahead. I am flexible to deliver more or less at a time and have done so in the past for certain athletes to fit their needs
- Unlimited training plan modifications – because life happens
- Unlimited feedback through text, email or TrainingPeaks comments (within reason – I’ve yet to experience any “outside of reason” behavior)
- Phone calls on an as-needed basis. These typically occur during intake, before and/or after a goal race or just when you need a little extra TLC – I got you! I also meet in-person with athletes in the Bow Valley – let’s grab a coffee, a beer or get out for a run!
- Assistance planning your race logistics – drop bags, nutrition and hydration plans, pacing strategies, gear recommendations, applying mental strength tools and reminding you to have a great time out there
- My coaching services do not include:
- Nutrition Plans – Instead, I point you in the direction of many amazing, free resources that will turn you into a fueling wizard
- Strength Training Plans – Instead, I provide guidance on how to incorporate strength training days into your running training program and point you in the direction of strength training resources and professionals that are qualified to provide you this guidance
- Physiotherapy and/or sports medical advice – You can count on me to be an advocate for your health and encourage you to reach out to these professionals any time a suspected injury flares up. We’ll then work together to adapt your training plan based on their advice
If you think I could be the coach for you – I’d love to hear from you! Please email elizabethhalleran@gmail.com and you’ll have the opportunity to chat with me directly (I’m a one-woman show) before signing up and completing my Athlete Intake Form.
